You can’t get more British than a game of cricket on a sunny evening in the summer.
On 27 th July Silverstone Cricket Club hosted their first match against the Aston Martin Cricket Team.
On this occasion Aston Martin were victorious in a friendly game played in the true spirit of how sport should be – much fun, laughter and encouragement.
It was great to see so many people come on down and enjoy the game, a BBQ and of course raise some money for the SRA refurbishment through a raffle. There were some great prizes on offer from tickets to see a match in The Hundred series, a driving experience at Silverstone Circuit, tickets to Silverstone Museum and some Aston Martin goodies along with the expected and loved chocolates and bottles!
Over £500 was raised which is great kick start to the community fundraising so thank you to
everyone who contributed in some way.
Thank you to the cricketers from both teams, the chefs for the BBQ and all those who donated prizes – it really is much appreciated! I believe there is talk of this becoming an annual event so let’s see if SCC coming back stronger next year.
